The story behind Live Life Love Life.

Two families' loss became a decade of screenings, treatment and dignity for women across Pune who cannot afford to fight cancer alone.

Two women connected to the foundation's story, one a chef and volunteer, the other a woman supported through her cancer treatment

Where It Began

A promise made in grief.

In 2013, Praful Chandawarkar lost his wife Cheeru to cancer. Around the same time, his closest friend Suraj lost his wife Priya. Both treatments came late, cost more than either family could bear, and left behind the same haunting question: what happens to the women who cannot afford to fight at all?

Rather than let that question go unanswered, the two friends turned their grief into a foundation. Live Life Love Life Charity Foundation began as a small effort to fund one woman's chemotherapy at a time — and grew into a network of screening camps, subsidised treatment, and palliative support across urban and rural Pune.

Nine years on, the mission hasn't changed: no woman should be denied a fighting chance against cancer because of what she can or cannot pay.

What We Do

Five ways we show up.

Spread Awareness

Prevention camps in urban and rural areas, with a primary focus on breast and cervical cancer.

Easy Accessibility

Palliative cancer care and chemotherapy made accessible for the financially disadvantaged.

Mobile Clinics

Rural and urban mobile screening units that bring early cancer detection to where people live.

Support & Care

Subsidised hospitalisation and surgeries, with post-operative care for those who cannot afford it.

Herceptin Vaccine Fund

Herceptin blocks the HER2 receptors that fuel breast cancer growth — we raise funds so cost is never the reason a patient goes without it.

What Drives Us

Mission & vision.

Our Mission

To ensure no woman in Pune is denied cancer screening, treatment, or dignity in care because she cannot afford it — through free screening camps, subsidised chemotherapy, and palliative support delivered where people already are.

Our Vision

A Pune where early detection is routine, treatment is within reach for every income bracket, and no family faces cancer's cost — financial or emotional — completely alone.

How We Work

Our core values.

Compassion First

We meet every patient and family with empathy, not paperwork.

Radical Accessibility

Free screenings and subsidised treatment brought to where people already are — no long journeys, no long waits.

Dignity in Care

Every woman we support is treated with the same respect and privacy we'd want for our own families.

Transparency

Every rupee donated is tracked and reported. Our finances are open to anyone who asks.

Community Over Charity

We work alongside local hospitals, health workers and volunteers so support is sustainable, not one-off.

Accountability

We measure outcomes, not just intentions, and share our progress every year.
